1 cup (250 ml) fresh or frozen organic strawberries
1 organic banana peeled
125g of soft organic tofu (also called silken tofu) OR 1 cup (250 ml) of coconut yogurt (from the brand Yoso)
1 cup (250 ml) of orange, mango or apple juice
1 ½ teaspoon (7 ml) unpasteurized honey
2 or 3 ice cubes
Toppings: strawberry and banana slices, white mulberries, toasted coconut flakes (from the brand Inari)
Optional superfoods: 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sprouted ground flax seeds (from the brand Back 2 the Garden), 2 tablespoons (30 ml) goji berries (from the brand Elan)
If you are using fresh strawberries, wash and cut them in 4 to measure them more easily.
Place all the ingredients in a blender (except the toppings) until it reaches a smooth texture. If you are using the superfoods, you can add them at the beginning with all the ingredients.
Pour the smoothie equally in two small bowls and decorate with the toppings.
*The tofu gives a creamy texture to the smoothie and adds around 9-10g of protein! The sprouted flax seeds provide 50% of the daily intake of magnesium. The goji berries provide 95% of the daily intake of Vitamin A and is an excellent antioxidant.
